I fell in love with pottery as a child and decided to teach it!
"Working with clay isn't just about making objects—it's about making meaning."
My Journey with Clay
My hands first met clay when I was a child, and we've been inseparable ever since. At 42, I can look back on a lifetime of creating, learning, and growing alongside this remarkable medium.
My pottery journey began in childhood, where the tactile joy of shaping earth into form captured my imagination. What started as childhood curiosity blossomed into a lifelong passion that has sustained and inspired me through every chapter of my life.
My Philosophy
I believe pottery connects us to something ancient and essential. Each piece I create carries the fingerprints of tradition while speaking in a contemporary voice. Clay grounds me in the present moment—a rare gift in our fast-paced world.
In my studio, I embrace both traditional techniques passed down through generations and modern approaches that push the boundaries of what's possible. Every bowl, vase, or sculptural piece tells a story of patience, practice, and presence.
My Work
My creations range from functional pottery that brings beauty to everyday rituals to sculptural pieces that explore form, texture, and the emotional language of clay. I'm particularly drawn to [mention your specific style or techniques here—e.g., wood-fired stoneware, porcelain, hand-built sculptures, wheel-thrown vessels, etc.].
I find inspiration in [mention your inspirations—nature, architecture, cultural traditions, etc.] and aim to translate these influences into pieces that resonate with both maker and user.
Why I'm Sharing My Journey
This blog is my way of documenting my continuing evolution as a potter, sharing techniques I've refined over decades, and connecting with fellow clay enthusiasts—whether you're just beginning your pottery journey or have been working with clay for years.
Through tutorials, reflections, and glimpses into my creative process, I hope to inspire others to discover the joy and centering presence that clay has brought to my life.
Let's Connect
I welcome commissions, collaborations, and conversations about all things pottery. Thank you for visiting my little corner of the pottery world. I look forward to sharing this journey with you.
